Sealing Protection Method of Excavator Walking Motor and Pipeline

Because of the high water content of ore, when excavator works in the cabin of ore transport ship, the ore slurry is often squeezed into the gap along the guard plate of the walking motor protection box and the through hole of the rubber pipe installation of the walking motor. When the extruded ore slurry is dried and solidified with the walking motor and its rubber hose, it will cause corrosion to the walking motor and rubber hose. The corroded rubber hose is prone to rupture and hydraulic oil leakage under the pressure impact of the hydraulic system. At the same time, a large number of ore slurry solidified and caked, which caused great difficulties in the dismantling and replacement of rubber hoses.



In order to prevent the corrosion of the walking motor and rubber hose, reduce the damage probability of rubber hose at the moving motor, reduce the waste of hydraulic oil, and improve the maintenance efficiency, we decided to block the protective plate of the walking motor and the through hole of the rubber hose to avoid the ore slurry entering the protective box of the walking motor, so as to achieve the purpose of protecting the walking motor and rubber hose. 。 The specific scheme is as follows:

1. Remove the guard plate on the protective box of the walking motor, take the shape of the guard plate as the template, and cut the guard plate retainer ring with 8 mm thick steel plate.

2. Weld the retaining ring at the outer frame edge of the protective box of the walking motor. After cleaning the welding slag, polish the weld with a polishing machine to make the weld smooth and smooth.

3. Making use of the inner tube of waste automobile tyres, two layers of gasket are made according to the outline of the retaining ring, and the gasket is adhered to the retaining ring.

4. Put foam sealant on the through hole of rubber pipe of walking motor to seal all the gap around the through hole.

5. Clean the inside of the protective box of the walking motor, paint the exposed metal parts, and then fix the baffle of the protective box of the walking motor.



The baffle and gasket can well seal the gap at the edge of the guard plate of the walking motor protection box. Due to the expansion and contraction and vibration of rubber hose when pressure changes, rigid sealing should not be adopted. The foam rubber has a certain elasticity, and the rubber pipe will not be damaged if it is used for sealing. Foaming rubber into the gap around the hose can play a good plugging role, while providing convenience for maintenance work. Even if the rubber hose needs to be replaced when it is aging, it is easy to remove the foam.



The above method prevents the ore slurry from entering the protective box of the walking motor, which can prevent the damage of the ore slurry to the walking motor and the tubing joint, and has achieved remarkable results.
